Hello Internet! I’m Mandi, and this here is my blog. I have worked many hours on it, mainly because I’m not very good at this blog stuff and I am also a perfectionist. So there’s that.
I live in Michigan. It snows here sometimes. It also rains in February, which sucks and is very wrong. Stop raining.
My family is adorable. Here we are.
Here we are again, in black in white in case you wanted to pretend it’s 1850 or are a hipster and enjoy making things more difficult for yourself.
I have three kids-Orion is eight, Evelyn is six and Jocelyn is four. They are all the smartest kids ever and are named after action movie characters.
We homeschool our kids and they clearly love it. I love it most days as well.
I read a lot of books and then write things about them. I used to write in a private reading journal, then I decided that everyone should benefit from my opinions. You’re welcome.
A lot of books. Probably too many. In 2016 I read 141 books, or 41,094 pages. I was super annoyed that neither of those numbers is an even, easy to remember number like 145 or 42,000.
People ask me all the time how I find time to read so much when I have three kids, a husband, a house to care for, and also homeschool and work from home a few hours a week. I think they are looking for some sort of sage time management advice. The real answer is that I really do nothing else with my free time except read, so I never know anything about current events or what movies are in theaters. I just stay in my bubble and read. And drink coffee, my second great love. When I feel overwhelmed by all the things I have to do, I just add some rum to the coffee and read a book for awhile. Everything gets better then.
If you made it this far and you still have things you want to know about me, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Or you could just read some posts. Go do that first.
